Payday 2 fps boost 20187/31/2023 Low frame rates when 'Payday 2' is docked. It’s a small thing but it eliminates a visual annoyance. Chromatic aberration is disabled on the Switch. Both the Xbox One and the PS4 use chromatic aberration to mimic the color fringing seen at the edges of images shot through a camera lens. The result of all of these visual cutbacks is a noticeably flatter and blurrier image than is seen on the Xbox One.ĭigital Foundry discovered one visual cutback on the Switch that can be considered an improvement compared to the other consoles. Shadow quality is also dialed back, and light bloom appears to be completely disabled. The poor visuals produced by lower grade texture filtering are compounded by the use of low quality textures on the Switch. (If some technical terms are unfamiliar, check out this guide. The Switch makes use of the same trilinear solution as the PS4 with the same result – blurry, muddy textures. The PS4 version used an inferior trilinear filtering solution which resulted in markedly blurrier textures. The Xbox One version of Payday 2 used 16x anisotropic filtering which produced sharp, clear textures. The problems start to show up when you look at Payday 2’s graphics settings.
